Beautiful site where I caught my first and many more rainbow trout with a lure off the bank past the toilet blocks at the end of that road. Unfortunately, there was man and woman with a Gold Toyota Landcruiser with stickers all over the rear and Kings camping tent on the roof and friend in another grey VW station wagon, that thought it’d be fun to torment a lone woman camper with a senior dog on its final adventure, with a luxury sports car. After the Bondi Junction massacre, I’ve noticed men like this emboldened to put independent women in their place. They went around my vehicle and high beamed my tent in the night, blasted their horn, then pretended to rev and lurch like they were going to run us over. I got their registration and reported them to the police. They returned the next night around midnight and were lurking around my tent, and I yelled out, “Come back in daylight you wuss!” Unfortunately, he did, 5 times, approaching me and pointing at me from 20 feet away whilst I was on the phone, so I loudly relayed what he was doing and had done, and he turned away but still lingered, listening. He took up different vantage points in his vehicle, making it obvious he was stalking me. Intimidation and stalking is a crime, as well as using your vehicle to cause fear. It only takes one person to ruin the experience, which was a shame, given the amount of money I spent in town, compared to the long term homeless campers on site. If you are a homeless man, this site is perfect, with many long staying permanent residents. Also, while there is hot water and a power point in both gender toilets, the council doesn’t clean them properly, and they smell worse than drop dunnies.
