Exploring Airlie Beach, Whitsundays!

Are you looking for a beautiful destination to relax, unwind and rejuvenate? I’ve got the perfect place for you, an unforgettable coastal town in Northern QLD, the Whitsundays region and the gateway to the iconic Great Barrier Reef, Airlie Beach. It’s surrounded by the most stunning crystal blue ocean, white sand, rolling hills, national parks and has a vibrant vibe all year round. It’s the place for all holiday makers no matter the time of the year or occasion.

There is so much to see and do in Airlie beach, such as driving around the land, booking a scenic flight, jumping aboard a boat tour or even if you fancy a private yacht tour you sure can do so. If you’ve chosen to see Airlie by cruising around on a vessel you’ll most likely be launching from either Shute Harbour, the Port of Airlie or Abell Point Marina. I would highly suggest to include a water activity such as snorkelling or diving amongst the breathtaking rainbow reefs, you’ll get to witness some of the most stunning sea life, you’ll feel like you’re in the movie Finding nemo.

Also only a stone throw away there are also some of the most recognised islands including Whitsundays Islands, Hamilton Island, Hayman Island and Daydream Island just to name a few. All showcasing some of the most stunning island life adventures.

One of the most iconic things to do whilst you're visiting Airlie Beach is a trip over to Whitsundays island, OH MY you’ll think you're dreaming when you lay eyes on this magical island. If you’ve ever wanted to visit Paradise you’ll be looking straight at it, Whitehaven beach. Ahhh where do i start... silky smooth white sand between your toes and swimming around in the most breathtaking crystal clear waters looking out at the most picturesque views?! Whilst basking by the beachside it is pretty incredible to feel the sand, your skin and jewelry will be feeling and looking brand new once you’ve spent your time exploring whitsundays island, it’s perfect for a day trip or a tropical island vacation.

If you’re interested in sightseeing by foot there are plenty of unforgettable walks to conquer, fancy a slow relaxing beachside walk? You can stay close to town and enjoy Airlie’s main beachfront walk surrounded by luscious palm trees, stunning views and beautiful shops.

Airlie beach has some of the most beautiful tropical weather throughout the whole year ranging from around mid 20 degrees to mid-high 30s and humid heat in the summertime. If you're looking for that comfortable holiday that you're dreaming of without the temperature scorching you, I would suggest planning your trip around June to October.

Who would have thought that just 30 minutes from Airlie beach you’d find a stunning freshwater waterfall, Cedar Creek Falls. On the drive in you’ll thoroughly enjoy cruising throughout the canefields, observing the picturesque landscapes and once you arrive it's only a short walk into the falls from the car park. If you feel like a hike then you can venture off to find some great walks around the falls.

Enjoy planning your getaway to the Whitsundays, the heart of the great barrier reef.
