CLOSED JUNE 2025. Wingham was smashed by the May 2025 floods, this camp area was demolished. Fenced off, mud and fallen trees everywhere, big footpath segments separated and strewn everywhere. Lots of rebuilding needed, this area was completely underwater. Otherwise an easily accessible location.

I thought this would be the ideal little stop over place, and it was awesome to see the swarm of bats (thousands of them) flying over late afternoon. Toilets are fine I guess, river is very calming. But the amount of people coming into and out of this location all throughout the night is INSANE. Wouldn’t recommend stopping here over the weekend, drunk people and all.. maybe throughout the week is fine. But certainly not worth a 5/5 star (even free).

This is closed at the moment due to flood damage Jan 2022. They will be able to repair it around March I think. There are showgrounds at Wingham as well.

Excellent place, clean public toilets, bbqs. We slept one night there and there were only 5 more campervans. Close to a river and a bush so expect mosquitos at night.
