Theres a few choice spots right next to the river so you can fall asleep with its sound track! Also a prepared flat area just above the river that would fit 5/6 vehicles. Theres a few fire pits there too. Great area for swimming. A few goats about, a couple of pigs (on the other side) and signs of a resident wombat. Theres also a drop toilet. If you want a quiet secluded spot this fits the bill. We were here midweek but school holidays had just started so we were surprised that we had the place to ourselves. Definitely 4wd only...Some easy stretches with some slow going but manageable. My map shows access from the Arkstone Rd side so we tried to exit that way, only to find the Retreat River was too deep to cross so back via the Paling Yards entrance. Top spot, we'll be back!
