This town and caravan park are totally unsafe. Please do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere. The owner lets his mates run the show when he is not around. Went for a drive late at night on pelde rd to settle my baby and 2 men approached my car one holding a baseball bat then rushed at me. I sped off terrified back to this park and one of the men followed me back and approached our camp site with the caretaker- they were clearly mates. Apparently it’s ok for a drunk, aggressive resident to enter the park in the middle of the night possibly armed. He then proceeded to harass me further making false claims that I was speeding in an 80kg zone(-speeding away from danger maybe)?. I was upset and yelling at the offender and we left on the spot, got home around 2am. The rest of the family stayed another day to be told they were unwelcome because my partner and I were arguing so loudly the night before- totally untrue, I was yelling at the person who clearly wanted to harm me for driving down their street late at night and had followed me back to my campsite. The park manager said that he believed his friends over us paying customers. I did not expect such a traumatic event to unfold on a one night stay in this park it was terrifying! Be mindful that the park manager will back his friends regardless of what they have done and probably covers for them pretty often. They don’t give a hoot about your safety. Recommend any caravan park but this one, Stay clear and if you choose to stay here stay safe. The park facilities were unclean and far away from the camping area. There was no gas in the barbecue which were filthy and full of water. The river bank was very steep and hard to access from the campsite. The bins were not emptied and there was a foul smell in the air the whole time.
