Newnes campground

No vehicle access! It's a long, roughly 10km walk to reach Newnes campground. The campground is walk-in only because Wolgan Road has collapsed and there's a landslip risk at Wolgan Gap. Wolgan Road was the only vehicle access into the valley and is managed by Lithgow Council.

I could not recommend this place enough. Absolutely stunning. Quiet. Incredible. The only downside is the people. If you are going to fill up the fire pit with rubbish...and I mean literally fill it. Then you don’t belong in places like this. You will ruin it for everyone. TAKE YOUR RUBBISH WITH YOU!

Gorgeous mountain view! FYI - water is not located on site, you will have to walk/ drive to the entrance to top up if you need to :)

One of my favourite campsites, there’s a lovely walk and it’s so picturesque. We went during off peak times and it was quiet and clean. Can’t wait to return

You can usually but there might be a fire ban when you go. Make sure to check before you plan your trip. I’d also bring my own firewood as the shop doesn’t always stock it. by Casey F.
