I grew up going here with family every Christmas and New Year for 22 straight years, my sister met here husband there and I met my wife there too. We loved it for its open areas, quirky owner and peaceful facade. The facilities were a bit outdated, even when I was a kid but the place had character and charm. The new owners have turned the place into what is on the surface a ‘pretty’ and ‘shiny’ camping/glamping experience with designated areas (in all the good spots) and a new bar (hilariously named coothara-bar after the lake it’s situated on). Call it nostalgia, but I feel that this place has lost its charm. I’ll still go back every once in a while I think but not during any major holidays for fear of being sandwiched in the now busy and loud camping ground.
