What a great spot. We escaped the extreme 40 plus heat of the plains around Narrabri (our previous night being in Lightning Ridge) and headed up to Mt Kaputar... A really good drive up a windy mountain road, arriving at the glorious level of 1500m.... So much cooler!!. There are 2 campsites and we stayed here at the top one. An excellent spot with great walks. And a really good toilet & shower block.

Question:

Just wondering the condition of the Barraba Travk from the eastern side entry to the park? We have a 4WD and off-road camper trailer. Would the road condition be ok? Also could we use the Dawson spring camp area for a couple nights with a camper trailer? What is availability like? Do we need to book in advance to stay here?
