Great location, however since it has been recently renovated and upgraded it is now swarmed with messy and disrespectful people who have no idea about the high country, camping and how to camp responsibly in these areas. There is constant rubbish dumped and camp fires left unattended. Also as part of the renovation works, bollards were put in to stop the cars parking on the grassed tented areas, now preventing camper trailers or roof top tent campers with nowhere to go. Opening the access to this area up to everybody has ruined this campsite. It's only saving grace is its location along the river.

The renovations completed late last year have been fantastic to this site. 2 camp site locations, with plenty of space. Close to the river. Toilet blocks are tidy and maintained

Would be a lovely spot during quieter periods but was a little noisy with the Easter crowds

Question:

Hello, are the toilets here drop toilets?

Answer:

Yes, drop toilet. Fairly clean compare to other free campsites toilet. by Matt L.

Answer:

Problem.is many campers just go to the toilet anywhere, leaving used toilet paper everywhere. It's disgusting and unhygienic. Also you get some rough around the edges campers that get drunk and cause a racas, or become threatening. I personally wouldn't feel safe, and feels very unhygienic in places, having been there before. by Grant A.
