I stayed overnight. Had a swim in the river, a hot shower, and cooked my dinner on the electric barbecue. A nice peaceful place to overnight. Be mindful of the mosquitoes coming out at dusk.

I didn’t stay but I stopped by, it looks really neat and tidy. It’s a beautiful drive to the site from either direction (Gloucester or Scone). It’s really close to this awesome quirky pub which is a short walk across a really old, odd suspension bridge. I’ll be back to stay for a couple of days on way through Barringtons.

This is the cheapest camping ground in Australia hot showers , powered and non powered sites , play ground for the kids , hunter river , 20 metres away , famous Victoria hotel 2 minute walk away , kids under 14 stay free , powered site two adults $98 per week can’t be beat that , run by the upper hunter shire council
