Nice spot right next to river. Be prepared to rough it as there are no amenities. Also, be prepared to clean up after other people who haven’t been thoughtful with where they toilet.

There are two free camping zones in this town - one on the far left of town as you come in from Geelong and one on the right just before the bridge. The small area on the right of the main road near the bridge is closest to town but it’s louder from the traffic. It has a few picnic tables. The river track camping area which you need to drive down along the bank to is much quieter but with more secluded sites and swimming spots (near the junction of the Barwon and Leigh Rivers). If you take the extra few minutes to drive down Park St, then River Track, you’ll be rewarded!

Great camp spot. Spacious and flat. Nice river next to camp spots. I stayed on Friday night and it was super quiet. Great spot outside geelong. Will stay again. Toilets in town approx 3 mins drive.
