Beautiful spot in the middle of nowhere, this place gives you a perfect camping experience with a good hot shower services. You could do kayaking, swim in the river…we had a lovely time.

This was our backup plan after discovering the rather hectic and very crowded Mallacoota waterfront (over the NYE holiday). Located north of Gypsy's Point, down a 7km windy dirt road, this is a much more peaceful and shady way to enjoy riverside camping. We camped in an unpowered site (no designated sites, just open area) along the riverfront itself and had water views from the tent! We enjoyed watching a neighbourly emu who seemed half-mad, half-blind as he pecked his way around our campsite seemingly ignorant of our existence. This sprawling retreat area is very large, and would suit groups and families wanting to stay together. There's designated fire buckets and a BBQ area for cooking and s'mores and a wide variety of spots to camp. With the well maintained hot shower block, designated garbage area with separate bins for organics and recycling (makes me happy!) as well as a range of kayaks available for hire, the fee was absolutely fantastic value.
