Great spot, busy at peak times, a ranger from recreation park comes around to make you pay, it's a paid site. They are nice enough to pay next morning tho if you arrive late. Prices last time was 15$ per swag, 20$ per tent and I think a bit more for RTT and caravans.

Question:

Is this site dog friendly all year round or just out of school holidays ?

Answer:

We sure are! We welcome your furry friends at our unreserved Lake Lyell campgrounds all year round. We ask that you please keep them on a lead and that they are always supervised. Remember to also pick-up after them and that any waste is bagged and placed in our general waste skip bins located centrally in the campgrounds. by Peter P.

Question:

Are there free sites on the water that are accessible without a 4x4, will a van get there ?

Answer:

Lake Lyell Recreation Park (including our unreserved campgrounds) are paid campgrounds. In our unreserved campgrounds, it is first-in, first-served and connot be booked. There are plenty of campsites available along the waterfront that are accessible via a dirt road for a 2WD vehicle and van. by Peter P.

Question:

Where the pin is on the map on this app, is that where it’s free to camp? If not where abouts around the lake can you camp for free and where abouts are the 4wd tracks? Just so I have an idea thanks

Answer:

Hi Nathan, we are a paid campground so we don't offer free camping. For more information on free camping and 4WD tracks in our region, visit the Seven Valleys Tourism website www.sevenvalleys.com.au. Alternatively, there are plenty of apps, Facebook groups and online forums that focus on free camping and 4WDing that are a great resource! by Peter P.
