We went to diggings on a long weekend. Somewhat busy but the great thing about this site is that there are so many spots around the river and another site close by to set up camp. There is one pit toilet... and I don’t know whether it was the amount of people, but it was putrid and needed an empty- saying that, there was a sufficient toilet paper supply. Getting in is an enjoyable experience with a number of water crossings. I would recommend 4WD, some hills are quite step and when it was wet I did find a need for low range. Besides this, whilst the river crossings aren’t ultra deep (depending on rainfall), the base is made up of pebbles and an AWD would find this difficult. Great scenery and great wild life, we saw some mountain goats.. strange haha
