Sharps Camping
Due to environmental and safety risks, Sharps campground will be permanently closed from Thursday 22nd December 2022.
Beautiful campsite but a bit cramped. Best to arrive early to ensure you get a spot. Only 6 sites stated but could easily fit more. The site filled up with 2-3 different people to each site and other camper vans parked in the “no camping area” too. It is a bit of a drive down a dirt road to get to the campsite, which is very bumpy and the roads have no barriers if you slide off the track. It’s a steep drop if you fall! There are is no drop toilet on the site and it is another 5km drive to the closest drop toilet. You could see many people had created their own pathways to do their business 💩which was a bit gross and littered with toilet paper everywhere. There is wildlife everywhere, I had the chance to feed king parrots and cockatoo (take nuts if you want to feed them, don’t feed birds bread as they can’t digest flour). I also saw a koala in a gym tree.
