Rangers are friendly. Kids had a ball swimming and riding bikes. So nice to see Kangaroos crossing the river at dusk. Campsites are not too crammed in.

Wanna surf consistent clean breaks right next to your campsite? Go here. Camp in the south grounds (sometimes called Grey Cliff). Tucked behind the recycling bins is are a handful of sites that are close to the steps down to the beach. A recent tropical cyclone washed the bottom of the stairs away but it’s still easy to walk down the trail beside. Each site has its own fire pit, BYO firewood. For supplies head to Maclean rather than the closer towns like Brooms Head. Much better supermarkets/butchers/bottle shops etc and some fantastic places for lunch.
