I would recommend not to stay there. We felt very uncomfortable and really UNSAFE due to its remote location. We didn't even stay there, at around 9:30pm we have left the site and checked in a motel. There were crazy people making car races on the campground.

Simple free camp. We had no issues. Large bit of land. Dump point a drinkable water. They were doing some land surveying while we were there so unsure how long it will be an empty piece of land for.

It’s good for one night camp. It’s just a car park with a dump site. They don’t have toilets but they have drinkable water.

Question:

Im riding my motorcycle from Brisbane to Cairns is it ok to pitch my tent over night here? Is it safe?

Answer:

It is ok to pitch a tent there but is it safe? Hmmm, we stayed there 1 night and did not see anyone, just remember rockhampton has its fair share of "undesirables". Down the back also looks like a seldom used burn out area for local hoons, there is potable water near the dump p point. by Gerard v.
