Newnes campground
No vehicle access! It's a long, roughly 10km walk to reach Newnes campground. The campground is walk-in only because Wolgan Road has collapsed and there's a landslip risk at Wolgan Gap. Wolgan Road was the only vehicle access into the valley and is managed by Lithgow Council.

Pit toilets only. Large flat camping area suitable for caravans, camping next to your car. If you have a 4wd you can cross the river and access more camping areas. Great clean river to sit in with a cold beer to cool off in Summer. Can get very popular. Lots of wildlife, Roos, Wombats, Opossums, snakes on occasion spotted. Take your rubbish out with you.
