Great camp site. flushing tolets hot showers, clean. fire pits at all camp sites great place to stay. A few walks can be done from camp ground to see the natural beauty in the area.
Great campground with level campsites for tents etc. Flush toilets and hot showers. Fascinating volcanic history with walk to the lake and caves. No easy access to the lake for kayaking/canoeing. No p... Read more
Nice spot with lots to see. Volcano lake, cave, good tracks for easy adventure motorbike riding, or walking and lots of wildlife. Web site said it was full but when we got there there was space and ju... Read more
We’ve absolutely loved Budj Bim. Fascinating geological and cultural history to the whole area and great walks that are easily accessible from the campsite itself. Lots of wildlife, generous and well spaced sites (sites 18 and 20 are only suitable for smaller set ups). 2 sets of toilets and hot showers! Need to book through vic parks, but was fairly quiet even at Easter. Cave access open, tracks are all clear and accessible now (2022)
Great NP, flushing toilets and even hot showers! The walks from the campsite were in good condition, clear/maintained and signed. The cave site was open and the lava flow landscape really quite unique... Read more

Will be visiting in Feb. Thinking of bringing a kayak if there is easy access to the lake. Would I be able to get within say 50mt of the lake by car (4WD)?
The road that winds along the lake is about 50mtrs from the launch area so you will have to wheel it down by foot. by Anthony N.
Even less probably 20m from memory by Anthony N.
Sorry ignore my previous response that was for a different campsite by Anthony N.
Much thanks. Sounds like it's a goer by Leopold S.

Top 10 campsites that allow fires near Port Fairy, VIC
They say life is better around the campfire. And we could not agree more. Over the years due to increase fire risk it's become a challenge to find great campsites that allow you to have a fire by your tent. Please be a responsible Aircamper and brush up on your fire safety knowledge. Bushwalking NSW has a great article that'll give you the rundown on how to light a fire responsibly. Below we've collected some hidden gems near Port Fairy, VIC that still allow you to sit back, toast your feet and incinerate some marshmallows while telling stories about camping when you were a kid.
