Short visit to free camp site next to pub. Arrived just before dark and Chose a private area (very important to me) Got mostly set up after an exhausting drive. Was tired and hungry and preparing to cook tea told to leave as I wasn’t self contained (despite not requiring a shower and using a portable toilet to contain my human waste). The publican became aggressive, worryingly fast, when I expressed my annoyance (I was not rude or abusive, just really tired and disappointed). Once diffusing the situation I was offered a new site behind the pub . It was very communal and not to my liking as a lone female who, on this occasion just needed a private, quiet and safe place for the night.
Spent 2 nights camping here. Lovely quiet bushy spot. A bit windy. Great bird life with tall forest very close by. Only 4 powered sites but we were the only ones here - perfect! Close to the lake with... Read more
