Ferntree Camping sites are closed until further notice unfortunately, due to large bushfires in Feb 2024. We did NOT camp here. The Ferntree waterfall area is partially opened, so you can go & look at that, a couple of porta-loos are there, & you can walk around & look at the regenerating forest, but there is no camping sites available, & the roads to them are closed. The whole area is under constant patrols of Parks Victoria, & there are no picnic areas left... we are assured that the camping spots will reopen one day, when reconstruction & forest stability & ground stability works are completed, things take time to heal & regenerate....
