Ellenborough reserve is a great place to take a break and recoup from your busy life. Meet people and enjoy the river with your children and dogs. Jumping from the high rocks is not for the faint hearted. The river is ever changing. Flooding rains have changed it’s We have been here when you can hear the rapids roar from your campsite. At the moment it is a very comfortable temperature and running gently. There were a couple of territorial catfish that had bitten a few people on our last visit, but saw one dangling from a fishing line before we left. There are many types of birds, willy wagtail, owls, Bush turkeys, little tiny wren and finches. The river attracts a range of colourful dragonflies. Which will land on you if you are still. Weekends are busy with locals using the grounds for picnics, swimming and canoeing in the river. During the week it’s a lot quieter. Campgrounds pack out during holiday times. Drop toilets provide toilet paper and are cleaned twice a week, Tuesday and Friday a.m. There is a sink and tap for your convenience to wash your hands. But is only filled by the rain. (Not meant for washing your dinner plates) Bins are emptied once a week on Friday. Lawns are mowed about once a month. Ranger drives through most weeks to check dogs are on leads etc. Give him a wave he’s quite friendly. Show your appreciation to the river for the healing you have received by picking up rubbish and glass if you see it. This is a fantastic free camp 🦋💦

The place is great and with the river is even better! There’s plenty of spaces for your car and tent. The only problem was that there was no water on the toilet sink.
