A group of us paddled ocean kayaks from DayDream Island over here on our days off now and then back in 2006. I doubt much has changed, there’s a nice area of cleared ground back up from the beach with a long drop dunny. It’s a peaceful nights sleep as long as you have mosquito / midgie control methods. Some good snorkeling and hiking to be had if you come prepared.
