Most beautiful campsite. Doug, who lives on site was so knowledgeable and full of story’s. Will be returning every time I visit the area. Most amazing scenery for a free camp!!!
What a beautiful piece of paradise!! So close to the water and watched the tide come in and the kids jumped off the wharf. Lovely caretaker was very informative and met some lovely people.
Excellent camp site. Road in is corrugated however the road isn’t very long therefore it is not too much of an issue. Actual camp site is spacious and well looked after. The gentleman who owns it obviously takes pride in the site. Great man too, very lovely and he doesn’t charge for the stay. The owner did have his generator running loud until 10:30 pm. This was slightly irritating however not a large negative (just saying so people are aware). Swimming in the river is great however the water has to be high for this to happen. Definitely worth a stay!!
Beautiful spot, friendly owner with lots of stories and travel tips.
A very peaceful and panoramic camping site. Make sure you only camp in the area that is marked specifically for camping. Doug, the friendly & informative caretaker advised us that creek water levels can rise very rapidly in certain spots. Quite windy while we were there, but that was not a surprise to us given the amount of wind turbines we spotted on the way to this magical destination.
Top Questions
Hello; is this camp currently open? Thank you
No, currently closed due to damage caused by the tides. by Emma J.
Apparently it’s illegal to fish here does that include everywhere or just certain spots?
In the Wininowie Conservation Park, fishing is generally allowed in most areas, particularly within General Managed Use Zones and Habitat Protection Zones. However, fishing and the taking of plants and animals are prohibited in Sanctuary Zones. It's important to check the specific zones within the park to understand what activities are allowed in each area. SA Marine Parks website has all the info you need 😊 by Emma J.
