This is great little park close to Melbourne and Geelong but a bit busy around holiday season and would be better visited off season. The facilities are dated and quite small and there is only one for the entire park so at busy times it can become quite untidy at times. It is family friendly and pet friendly which is great but don’t expect a sleep in. There is a gorgeous park/picnic area right across the road that has access to the river. There are great walks, including a steep but easy walk to the Blackwood pub and coffee shop. Best of all you can have fires because after all camping is not camping if you can’t have a fire.

The unpowered camp sites down by the river are beautiful and secluded. But there is no taps or ablution blocks down there and if u have a heavy trailer u will probably need a 4x4 vehicle to get up the hill. But not a far walk to ablution blocks and really lovely. The top powered sites are very close and not much privacy or tree cover.

Awesome place to stay. So near to Werribee Gorge. Plenty to do, great place for families. Beautiful river that you can swim in in summer.
