You have to get there early. We arrived at about 4pm and most spots were taken. There is one disabled concrete pad available. We are self contained so did not avail ourselves of the facilities. Of those already parked, they did not do so to maximise spaces but more to maximise their space. Insufficient phone coverage to stream. 1 bar 4G. The road down is a challenge for a caravan or motorhome. Take it slow as you have to straddle the double centre lines. Quiet and pleasant free spot. Old Ford Reserve is further down the valley too.
Good place to go
Campsite is open as of June 2025. No booking or payment required. Fires are allowed but don't gather wood. Telstra has spotty 4G reception. Dedicated sites are not really level and have puddles due to the recent rain. Next to a creek with rubbish dumped in and around. Gets quite busy over the weekend so must come early in the day to get a spot. Only 10 minutes from town. Plenty of toilet paper and toilets are clean. Overall a nice peaceful spot.
I found it a lovely spot. creak running through & plenty of ferns. not sure how it would be this year as all around seem to have had huge amounts of rain.
Beautiful location beside a small creek surrounded by trees. It is very popular and was quickly overcrowded - way too many people for the 2 drop toilets. People were respectful and quiet by 10pm. It would be brave to take a caravan or large motor home, there’s a small, steep causeway that people bottomed out on.
