I would NOT call this a camping spot - maybe just a picnic area. Barely space to set up even 1 camp if really necessary. Both toilets (male and female) were supposed to be flushing with water - but both were so clogged they were overflowing with toilet paper and human waste. We had a look around for 5 minutes and left immediately. We wasted about 2-3 hours driving out to look at this spot and having to go back and find somewhere else to stay.
Mid week, with forecasts of showers and 15 degrees, we had almost the whole place to ourselves. Fire pits are great, plenty of natural wood around (bit wet of course), the river is clean, toilet prett... Read more

It is a perfect spot close to Hobart (1 hour drive) and amazing if you are going to do some hiking in Hartz Mountain. Free camping site, recommend for tent but you can park your campervan or RV and stay at the parking. Parking with around 6 positions available and 6 spots for a comfortable camping (without disturbing the others). No booking. Flush toilet and 1 shelter with a table to save in a raining days Probably pet friendly, I couldn't find any information at the camping. I loved!

Top 10 campsites that allow fires near Taroona Beach, TAS
They say life is better around the campfire. And we could not agree more. Over the years due to increase fire risk it's become a challenge to find great campsites that allow you to have a fire by your tent. Please be a responsible Aircamper and brush up on your fire safety knowledge. Bushwalking NSW has a great article that'll give you the rundown on how to light a fire responsibly. Below we've collected some hidden gems near Taroona Beach, TAS that still allow you to sit back, toast your feet and incinerate some marshmallows while telling stories about camping when you were a kid.
