Lovely open , camped there for 4 night wind picked up and there is no shelter from it , haven’t seen a rat about but there are roosters and they like to crow throughout the day ( lol ) also a couple of emus walking around , Seems to be a popular place for some young’s locals to hang about and ride there dirt bikes, very disappointing when they stirs up the dust having no respect for the campers

Google maps says it’s “permanently closed” but it’s definitely open. So much space, there were at least 100 other caravans and still so much room. Very open area, nice river and scenic views. Seems to be a popular dirt road in the middle of it all which is used all night. They weren’t lying about big rats, they are there for sure. There is also heaps of roosters and a pair of brolgas that wonder around.

Fantastic place to be, lots to see at camp and in town, unless it's raining, when raining it's a mud bowl and everyone gets bogged as soon as they leave the ashfelt...
